This year I got my students involved with the Vans Custom Culture shoe design contest. I had never heard of it before and when I got the email this year I decided to sign up for it.
I then actually forgot about the whole contest, you sign up in early Jan., until the shoes arrived on my desk in late February. In a moment of panic I just assigned students to certain shoes based on their skills and abilities. If we do this again next year I will make it more into a contest, but I had too many things going on this year and I didn't want to have to judge that too.
